Media Release for Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT 2023)

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is conducting CAT 2023. Prof. Sanjeet Singh, Professor of IIM Lucknow, is the Convener for CAT 2023. According to the CAT Centre for CAT 2023, the following are the important announcements to the candidates appearingfor CAT 2023:

Registration Deadlines:

Registration for CAT 2023 opens: 02 August 2023 (Wednesday) at 10.00 am

Registration for CAT 2023 closes: 13 September 2023 (Wednesday) at 5.00 pm

Test Cities:

CAT 2023 will be conducted in around 155 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose six optional cities.

CAT Centre will try its best to ensure that a candidate gets one of the preferred options. In case of high demand in a particular region, CAT Centre reserves the right to allot a centre close to the any of the preferred options. Once a centre is allotted to a candidate, no change is permitted.

Registration Form Edit Window:

After the closure of the registration window, candidates will be able to edit the following fields in the application form (if required):

  1. Photograph
  2. Signature
  3. Test City Preferences

After the closure of the registration window, a very short edit window will be made available to the registered applicants. This option will be valid only for those candidates who have paid the applicable registration fee and have registered successfully for CAT 2023 within the specified deadline.

Date of the Test:

CAT 2023 will be conducted on November 26, 2023 (Sunday) in three sessions.

Duration of the Test:

The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. The Test will have the following three sections:

  1. Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
  2. Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
  3. Section III: Quantitative Ability

Candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowedto switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. Tutorials to understand the format of the test will be available on the CAT website. Candidates are advised towork on the tutorials available on the CAT website well in advance.

The CAT Convener urges the test takers to register well in advance to have a hassle-free registration process and to avoid last-minute rush.

The information provided by the CAT website is contingent upon the decisions and directions issued from time to time by the Central & State governments, and IIMs. Candidates are advised to regularly check the CAT website (www.iimcat.ac.in) for the latest information.
