In a major procedural overhaul, the government has scrapped the facility for candidates to choose their exam city for key national entrance tests. Starting from 2026, aspirants for CUET will be automatically assigned a test city based on their permanent residential address. The significant change, announced by the Union Ministry of Education, is a direct measure to combat malpractice and the use of “proxy candidates” that have plagued the high-stakes examination system. Officials state this will enhance the integrity and fairness of the process by preventing strategic manipulation of test centers. The move will impact millions of students, who must now plan their exam travel well in advance based on the automated allocation.

Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) has announced the Round 2 seat allotment schedule for CUET UG 2025 admissions. The guidelines for eligible candidates were released on September 25, with choice filling open from September 28 to 30. Seat allotment results will be out on October 4, followed by joining at allotted colleges between October 5 and 10 (till 3 PM). Colleges must upload admitted students’ lists by October 10 (5 PM). This covers streams like Nursing, Paramedical, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy, with programs including BSc Nursing, BPharm, and more across 216 colleges. Total rounds: 3.

After multiple delays The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) commences online counselling for UG admissions on September 2, 2025, following the CUET UG results on July 4. Registration will be open for a week, with the rank list released in mid-September and the first seat allotment from September 15–17. The process fills 20% of seats in State Agricultural Universities, 100% in central and deemed universities like IARI, and 20% in central universities like BHU.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has revised its admission policy for 2025 to address over 1,200 vacant PG seats and numerous UG seats. Alongside CUET scores, BHU will now consider 12th or graduation marks for filling these seats, offering relief to students with strong academic records but lower CUET performance. UGC Secretary Manish R. Joshi emphasized that leaving seats vacant wastes resources, prompting this merit-based approach for 2025, though CUET scores will remain mandatory in future years. This policy shift provides a second chance for students to secure admission to BHU’s prestigious programs.

Jawaharlal Nehru University has kicked off the online registration for undergraduate admissions via CUET-UG 2025. Applicants who appeared for the CUET exam (held between May 13 and June 3, 2025) can now register on the JNU portal after the National Testing Agency (NTA) declares results in July. Counselling will include submission of preferences, fee payment, and document verification. The university is expected to release the first and second cutoff lists, along with merit lists, through August. Prospective students must complete the mandatory pre-enrolment process to secure their chosen courses
