Princeton Ends Test-Optional Era — SAT/ACT Scores Become Mandatory from 2027
Princeton University announced it will require undergraduate applicants to submit SAT or ACT scores starting with the 2027–28 admissions cycle, ending a seven-year test-optional policy introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision follows a review showing that students who submitted test scores performed stronger academically than those who did not. The change aligns Princeton with peers like Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania and Brown University, while Columbia University remains the only Ivy League school still test-optional. International and domestic applicants will need to plan SAT/ACT registration well ahead

Pomodoro Technique, Time-management Strategy for GMATThe Pomodoro Technique emphasizes dividing study or exam time into focused intervals of 30–40 minutes followed by short 1–2 minute breaks. While the concept appears simple, its execution is the real game-changer. Mental fatigue often hits during the final section of exams like CAT, GMAT or SAT, reducing performance. By practicing “laser-like focus” during work intervals and taking zero-brain-activity breaks—such as meditating on a calming image—students can tame their minds, prevent burnout, and sustain performance. This method trains the brain to handle time pressure effectively, making exams less about knowledge and more about smart strategy.

SAT Gains Ground in India as Students Look Beyond Traditional Exams
The SAT is rapidly gaining popularity in India, with more than 40 Indian universities now accepting it for admissions, says College Board vice-president Rushi Sheth. Globally, the move to a digital format since March 2023 has boosted adoption—over 9 million digital SAT-Suite tests have been taken so far. Indian students are increasingly opting for the SAT not only for foreign universities but also for domestic institutions such as Ashoka University and Shiv Nadar University. Female participation is also on the rise—41 % of SAT takers in 2024 were female. With test centers expanding in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, projections hit 200,000 takers by 2025. Advisors urge Class 11 prep using official mocks for scores above 1400.
